Preamble

  • Desiring to create these cooperative relationships, technical assistance solidarity;
  • Concerned to promote responsible and attractive games and fight against financial crime and money laundering;
  • Determined to promote the economic integration of Africa;
  • Attentive to the issue of environmental protection;

The leaders of the companies operating in the field of games of chance and prognoses in African states decided to create an association open to the entire sector.

Name, Duration and Headquarters

The name of the association is "Association of African Lotteries (ALA)".

Its duration is unlimited. However, it can be dissolved by decision of the General Assembly and in accordance with the conditions provided by General Regulations.

The headquarters of the Association is the one of the company that provides the General Secretariat.

Ethics

The Association is apolitical and independent of any union or religious grouping.

The association prohibits in its activities, any type of political, religious or trade union discussion and any discrimination based on sex, race, nationality and philosophical convictions of its members.

 

Aims and objectives of the Association

  • The Association has as aims and objectives to:
  • Uniting public, semi-public or private companies, the holding of both a monopole and a license or concession of African States to operate games of chance, prognoses and assimilated.
  • Encourage mutual assistance in the technical and the educational level among members of the Association.
  • Participate in African economic integration through the establishment of the Pan-African Games;
  • Participate in socio-economic achievements in priority areas such as education, security, civil protection, health, culture and sport, the fight against unemployment and poverty through creating jobs and income generating activities;
  • Organize seminars, congresses, conferences, general meetings and consultation frameworks for capacity reinforcement;
  • Forge bonds of solidarity with sister associations of lotteries and other organizations with similar aims all over the world;
  • Develop norms, standards and codes of good conduct to serve as repositories to which members must comply (ISO, responsible gaming, WLA standard, security standard etc ...).
  • As part of pursuing its aims and objectives, the Association respects the territorial integrity, public order and morality.
