Mr. Younes El MECHRAFI, General Manager of the Moroccan Games and Sports was elected this Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Brussels Executive Committee member and Secretary General of GLMS (Global Lottery Monitoring System) during its constitutive general assembly. It integrates the new world body for the prevention and the detection of irregularities in sport bets in recognition of the alignment of governance of MDJS on the highest international standards.
Global System fraud monitoring in sport bets (GLSM) has as a mission to preserve the integrity of sport against threats from match-fixing and manipulation of all sports competitions in the world. Newly created Association on the initiative of the World Lottery Association (WLA) and the Association of European Lotteries (EL), the institution has 30 global lotteries including the French Gaming, the Singapore Pools and Lottery Company of western Switzerland. It works closely with leading international sports associations such as FIFA, UEFA or the International Olympic Committee.
To protect the integrity of sporting competitions, GLMS interventions will focus on the monitoring and reporting of irregularities and fraud. This major mission is executed through the establishment of an information system and services provided by Sportradar, the world leader in this field, allowing addressing all markets at the international level.
In addition to its Secretary General Younes El MECHRAFI, the executive committee of GLMS consists of six other members, including Mr. Friedrich Stickler, EL and GLMS President and Mr. Thierry Pujol, Risk Management and Security director of the French Games. The executive committee is elected for a period of 2 years
Following his election Mr. Younes El MECHRAFI stated: "The creation of GLMS is a historic act and extremely responsible from the lottery industry. GLMS is an instrument that will protect the integrity of sport through the transparency of gaming operations. Through my election, it is the whole team of MDJS that is honored of its constant involvement in promoting responsible gaming. "
As a reminder, Younes El MECHRAFI was elected Secretary General of the Association of African Lotteries (ALA) and member of the Executive Committee of the WLA in 2014.
