Companies Encouraged to equally think of the Populations

The African Lotteries Association (ALA) started its 16th congress yesterday. The congress was a seized opportunity by the Senegalese budget minister Mouhamadou Makhtar Cisse to ask companies to invest more for the benefit of the populations.

« Security and societal responsibility of the company » This is the theme of the 16th congress of the African lotteries Association (ALA) open by the budget minister Mouhamadou Makhtar Cisse yesterday in Dakar. A theme which “demonstrates with sufficiency the African lottery companies’ well and truly option for another style of management to comply with the requirements and recognized universal standards.

This allows saying that beyond the search for profit, the companies, in countries where they operate, have a responsibility towards the populations.” the former head of customs said.

“Societal responsibility, said Makhtar Cisse, allows investment in the social and humanitarian fields for the benefit of others and not just for the company’s own benefit. This is important in a country where there is a relatively high poverty rate. It’s up to the LONASE (Senegalese National lottery) as well as all responsible companies, and they are aware of it, to bring a bit more to the populations.”

According to the Minister of Budget, with the new economic policy that wants to lead our country, "no effort will be superfluous to action the emergence of Senegal's economy. The national lottery, which today employs 527 people permanently with 200 temporary employees is a company that really counts, regardless of income distributed to subscribers, '' he stated.

For the general manager of the LONASE Amadou Samba Kane, the theme of this congress is justified because the lottery companies often do not have good press in public opinions. "It is important for us, companies that sell hope, to be secured. People who believe in us should be secured; they have to know that the games are played in good conditions with all the required security.

It is also required that the games should be responsible and canalised. We want our lottery companies to be in harmony with the outside good practices» he added. Nestor Tchissambot Makosso, current president of ALA, noted for his part that lotteries contribute well to the social concerns of the populations such as health and education.
