Intégration africaine : un officiel sénégalais loue l'apport des loteries nationales

Dakar, March 11th (APS) – The Senegalese Minister of Budget, Mouhamadou Makhtar Cisse, hailed Tuesday in Dakar the national lotteries’ level of development of the continent on regional integration.

"The lottery corporations and PMU (Pari Mutuel urban) are advanced in the field of African integration," said Cisse.

He presided over the official ceremony of the 16th Congress of the Association of African lotteries (ALA), an open eight-day meeting on March 8th  in Dakar.

"The ALA has become a place to exchange experiences for African lotteries, which are all concerned to fulfill their mission" to benefit populations, he added.

The Congress of African lotteries is about "safety and corporate social responsibility."

The choice of this theme “demonstrates with sufficiency the African lottery companies’ well and truly option for another style of management to comply with the requirements and recognized universal standards. In their fields of activity, stressed Mouhamadou Makhtar Cisse.

The General Manager of the Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE), Amadou Samba Kane, justifies this choice: "We chose to talk about corporate social responsibility because we found that national lotteries were not well pressed."

"It is important to be safe and organize responsible games. That's why we want to ensure that our companies are certified," he added.

The conference theme is "more relevant than ever, because the continuity of our societies is based primarily on security ..." Mr. Kane said.

According to the president of ALA, Nestor Tchissambot Makosso, "lotteries are in line with the theme" of their 16th Congress, "because they contribute to social work, health and education of the peoples."

The president of the World Lottery Association (WLA, in English acronym) for its part called African lotteries to work for the promotion of health and education of the citizens of their country.

"Lotteries have a role to play" in social sectors said Jean Monet Banet.

ALA was created in December 1981 in Dakar. It incorporates PMU companies since 2012.
